About TerraVeda
A Practice Built on Time in the Field.
TerraVeda is a founder-led commercial advisory practice. We bring together systems thinking, farm economics, and hands-on implementation experience — grounded in the realities of Indian agriculture.

The Founder
Raj Goli
Raj brings together the discipline and systems orientation shaped by his experience in the Indian Air Force; more than two decades in global financial institutions, including senior roles across transformation, finance, operations and programme governance; and experience working with Big Four firms. Over the past decade, he has also focused on understanding and researching the ecological and economic challenges facing farming, while developing practical solutions to address them. As a practising farmer, he grounds this work in the everyday realities of soil, water, crops, labour, capital, risk and markets.
His work in agriculture began with a direct question: why do well-intentioned farm interventions so rarely produce durable economic outcomes for farmers? The answer, he found, was not a lack of techniques or schemes — but a lack of systems thinking. Farms were being improved in parts, not designed as wholes.
TerraVeda was founded to address that gap — to bring the rigour of systems design and commercial advisory practice to Indian farm development. Its approach is grounded in Raj's direct experience as a practising farmer and in the practical work of translating regenerative principles into farm design, implementation planning and farm economics.
TerraVeda is not an NGO. It is not an input supplier. It is a commercial advisory practice — engaged by those who want to build farm systems that are ecologically sound, economically resilient and institutionally durable.
The Practice
What makes TerraVeda different.
Systems design, not scheme facilitation
We design integrated farm systems — not facilitate access to government schemes or input subsidies. Our value is in the design thinking, not the paperwork.
Commercial rigour, not development charity
We are a commercial advisory practice. We charge for our work because we believe that paid advisory relationships produce better outcomes — for both parties — than grant-funded interventions.
Implementation experience, not desk research
Our recommendations are grounded in hands-on farm development experience. We have worked in the field, made mistakes, and learned from them. We do not recommend what we have not tested.
Long-term relationships, not one-off reports
Farm systems take years to design, implement, and stabilise. We build long-term advisory relationships — not deliver reports and move on.
Why This Matters
The scale of the challenge demands a different kind of practice.
India's agricultural sector supports the livelihoods of hundreds of millions of people — most of them on small and marginal holdings, dependent on depleting groundwater, exposed to volatile markets, and without access to the institutional support that larger farms take for granted. The interventions of the past fifty years have produced yield gains but not livelihood resilience. TerraVeda exists to demonstrate that a different approach is possible — and commercially viable.
